Dr Alexis Thomas

Dr Alexis Thomas, after many years as a hospital doctor across a broad range of specialties, has decided to contribute her wealth of experience and caring attitude to her work as a private family doctor.

After beginning her medical career with a BSc from the University of St Andrews, she completed her MBChB at Manchester University in 2008. She was awarded an academic foundation training in Manchester and then moved to London to complete core surgical training, with a focus on plastic surgery. She became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2012.

While undertaking plastic surgery research, Dr Thomas worked in many of London's leading private hospitals across both medical and surgical specialties. This allowed her to forge strong connections with consultants and an understanding of the "patient experience" provided by the hospitals. She then worked for 18 months in private oncology and palliative care, completing her European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care.

This breadth of specialty exposure lead Dr Thomas to decide that General Practice would provide a more stimulating, challenging career and greater enjoyment due to the development of long term doctor/patient relationships. Alexis retrained as a GP via the Ealing Vocational Training Scheme, with further expertise gained through posts in Paediatrics, Acute Medicine and Psychiatry.

Dr Thomas practices holistic, personalised, evidence based medicine, preferring to build medical plans through collaborative decision-making with her patients. She works full time, she is easily contactable and is happy to provide both one-off consultations or long-term continuity of medical care tailored to you and your family's health and lifestyle needs.

Dr Thomas is married, with a toddler, and lives in Barnes.
